REVIEW: NEUTROGENA Mineral Clearing Compact Powder

I might say that this powder is my HG (Holy Grail) powder so far. I love love love it very much. Thanks to my friend, Stephanie, who brought me this all the way from USA.  I have been using it ever since, and I havent finish it until now. Conclusion? It is very long lasting. A liitle bit goes along the way and it sets my make up perfectly.

                It is also MINERAL powder. I love mineral J hehehe, if you buy make up products, I suggest you to choose mineral products, mineral is good for your skin, feels lighter, and harmless. Whereas un-mineral and bad products might contain stuff that clog your pores and make you break out badly. This powder also has salycic acid, it is very good for you who has a lot of zits and you don’t want to add more. This powder will help you reduce your acnes. Actually, since I was junior high I have been using powder that has salycic acid in it. If you want a local one, try clean and clear compact powder. It has salycic acid too.

 My shade is natural ivory. It reduces the shine and it has a very cool puff inside. Orange color is for sheer coverage and white color is for stronger coverage. The coverage is certainly buildable. My skin feels smooth and light feel after using this powder. It lasts so long, 6 hours with a little blotting due to hot indonesian wheather.I like this a lot, I will certainly rephurchase it.  Oh Neutrogena *smooches*.

REVIEW : Famous Maybelline Clear Smooth Compact Powder and Powder Foundation

I used to be in love with this products, and had been a loyal customer for four years (since senior high) of these compacts. Hehehehe, by then I had influenced my aunts, and my grandma to use the same product as mine hahaha. They still use it till now, but me? No. hehehe, I have been busy trying a new compacts. In my beautiful dressing table, I have got five of these stacking up, one is damage, and four another still has some left.

In choosing my make up, I always prefer it to be either mineral cosmetics, or non comedogenic. These compacts are non comedogenic. It means mostly they will not make you break out and has less tendency to build comedos on your skin. It also has SPF. SPF is great for your skin because it wiil reduce bad effects of UV rays. The compact foundation has greater SPF somehow.  

Application is easy, just like ordinary powder. You can apply it with the sponge, or if you want a lighter application, I suggest you to use powder brush or even kabuki brush. I love to use kabuki on compact foundation to turned it into finely milled powder. The finishing result is great, flawless, natural and it is just like using mineral compact powder foundation

It doesn’t stay too long though, even if I stay inside. You know, my college,UPH is full of air conditioner.Sometimes it gets too cold hahaha. Even in a such environment, these compacts come off and gets oily in about three hours. When I bought it, I was hoping that it would stay longer, since it has SHINE FREE tag, and in their comercial Sherina said she can wear this in eight hours and still looks elegant. Powder foundation stays longer, of course. Maybe around four – 5 hours with a little blotting.

For compact powder, the coverage is sheer for me. Hehehe but for some of my friends, the coverage is medium. Powder foundation is different story though. The coverage is much greater than compact. When I use my kabuki brush to apply this, I can attain a good coverage but light weight hehehe. If I wet the sponge, the coverage will be heavier. Both of the powder eliminates your redness, but if you have dark under eye circle, you will need to wear concelear first. I find that combination of these compacts and concelear bring out good result.

Sadly, Maybelline doesn’t have my skin shade. I used to use light shade, back then when I just got back from Maine. I was still pretty with fair skin ( Maine has super long winter). Then my shade got darker. I changed to Natural shade, but then after I started working aside of school, my shade got darker, I guess. My friend kept saying that my powder didn’t match my skin tone hahaha. Next, I made a hop to Honey Shade, it is not too light, but it is too yellowish. I don’t like it. A blend of Honey and natural also weird on my skin tone. So, it would probably best for me if I start trying new compacts, or working on whitened my skin so I can wear natural/light shade again J

Overall, these are great compacts. Not to mention they are sold in such fair price. I would recommend this for you who has normal or dry skin type. If you have yellow undertone, honey shade would look great on you. For olive undertone, choose sand beige. Neutral undertone would look best on netral shade. Last, if you have a fair skin with pink undertone, choose light.

REVIEW : DIOR show ICONIC mascara in Noir

                For my birthday on September last year, my best friend bought me a complete pallete of Christian Dior traveller make up. I was like SPEECHLESS. It was just like I got a ton of gold. I rarely use it, since it is very pretty and has certainly become my treasure. Silly me >.<. 

                Inside, there is a sample size of Dior Show Iconic Mascara. This newest member of Dior`s lash collection doesn’t produce the greatest lashes ever. Maybelline mascara got me a better one. I shall waive this weakness since it curls, lengthens, and defines so well. Well, every product has its weakness anyway. Totally understandable. Application is easy, no clumps or flakes. The plastic comb brush defines and coats even the tiniest lash and morphs my lashes into beautiful feathered fringe.

                I want to have more of this, but when I search it down to sephora.com, this mascara is very costly. Hehehe I definitely change my mind, especially when Revlon`s and Maybelline`s mascaras still do a great job on making my lashes beautiful

Beauty is not mere make up and skin, but also faith, attitude, and brain. Agree? There are so many girls out there turn to be shallow and superficial because they are focus on what eyes could see. At the ends, they forget what it means to become beautiful, even when they put on cute clothes and dazzling make up. They are pretty yet they are so empty inside. I hope we don`t turn to be one of them. I hope that we all be wise women.

REVIEW : Two Local BB Creams, One Winner

Aaa, I still have 20 mins before my next appointment J. Let`s put this time into a good use! Since I am in a hurry, I will use English >.< Sorry for those who have difficulty reading in English, bare it with me this time coz I have such limited time. This entry is made upon request, many of the readers ask me so much about which one to buy, Maybelline or Caring. So, i hope this comparison review would help you decide :)

Today I want to compare two infamous BB Cream which are affordable and available in Indonesia. They are Maybelline Clear n Smooth BB Cream and Caring colours BB Cream ( Everlast). I know that some of you are not familiar with BB Cream. I already explained it in my first post about Caring colours BB cream, just search through this blog J.  Hmm, anyway, BB cream is a cream, a lil bit like foundation, good for your skin, and it is called the secret of Korean actresses, since it is widely use in Korean movies.

                Aight, back to my review, I owned these BB creams for quite some time. Maybelline was my first, then three months ago I bought caring colors, and I have been using it ever since. Talking about packaging, I prefer maybelline. It has pointy end so it makes it easier for me to manage the cream when I squeeze it out. Maybelline is smaller, since it is only 18 ml, whereas caring colours is 35g. Eventhough caring colours doesn’t have that pointy end, I love LOVE love the color. For the old one like mine, it is pink, but actually they reinvent their products and renew their packaging. The new one is pale pink and white. They also reduce the quantity of cream (sad L) Well, I certainly love the old one because it is cuter and has more cream inside hehehe.

                Above, there are swatch pictures of these creams. Maybelline has fairer color. It is going to look ghostly, even for me, when we first put this cream on our face. It will oxidise later and matches our skin tone tho. Caring colors has beige color, it sits just right on my skin tone. Caring colours is ahead in terms of consistency. It lasts four – six hours in me. Just like its name, everlast, it does last quite long. Why? It has a good oil control, of course. Maybelline only last two hours, and then my face will be VERY VERY oily I have to blot. They both are minerals BB cream, which are good J. Caring colours has tourmaline to

Caring is buildable. It is so smooth and creamy, I like it. When I am in hurry, I will not put any powder to set it. I end up having cute dewy look J. Most of the time I still put powder because I prefer matte finish. I also have flawless look after using this and a little loose powder. Maybelline is also buildable, but when u build this cream, make sure you blend nicely especially at your fine lines otherwise it is gonna left streak marks and cakey after three hours. Ah ya, I can`t go with only maybelline on my face. People are going to think that I havent shower because my face is too oily hahaha. I love to set maybelline with clear smooth compact powder ( my shade is honey). The coverage is super everytime I combine these two. Very flawless and my face looks totally fresh.

At the end, I think Caring colours deserves to get the trophy J due to its consistency, creamy texture, coverage and flawless finish. 

REVIEW : DIORSKIN extremefit supermoist foundation

Basically Diorskin Extreme Fit Supermoist Foundation is a good compact foundation. Worth my investment. It felt very smooth after putting on my face. When I used this on my friend`s wedding, I got compliment from my friend that she liked my complexion a lot. Hehehe. It is also very buildable. I can have sheer complexion or even strong coverage when I need it. Application is easy. If I want a light coverage, I will use a large kabuki brush to turn this compact powder into finely milled powder. But if I need stronger coverage, I will use the sponge and put more in areas that need more attention.

                The coverage is great. It is able to cover my zits and dark eye circle. When I am in hurry and has no time to apply concelear, I will just put on this on my face and I am all set to go. Unlike another foundation or two way cake ( this is how we say compact foundation here), this foundation is very comfortable to wear. Light feel, like wearing nothing at all. I love this part of this foundation

This foundation would not last though L. It has no oil control. After 30 minutes putting this on my face on a hot wheather, my face would shine real bad. Like the whole face become slicky. Eww L So, I prefer to use this at night, or maybe at afternoon, but only after I put face primer on.  Moreover, this compact foundation is very costly. Of course, it is Dior >.<. It also oxidize and becomes orangey after some time. I recommend this for you who have a dry skin or normal skin J

REVIEW: Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream

Review

-          Nice packaging. Ukurannya yang kecil dan ringan bikin BB cream ini cocok diajak traveling. Ukurannya hampir sama dengan mini bb cream missha J. Oya,  kalau dibuka kemasan maybelline punya tube yang agak meruncing. Jadi, waktu ngeluarin krim bisa lebih teratur n ga takut kalo tiba – tiba krimnya keluar terlalu banyak

-          Gampang ditemuin J. Di hypermart, matahari, indomaret, dan toko – toko kosmetik menjual BB cream ini. Apalagi promosinya lebih gencar daripada produk BB cream lain seperti caring colors dan silkygirl, jadi orang lebih tahu BB cream ini dan dimana belinya

-          Oil controlnya biasa aja >.<. Hmm, oil controlnya mungkin hanya tiga jam ya, setelah itu pasti daerah T zone jadi berminyak banget.

-          Medium coverage

-          Setelah dipake beberapa bulan, ga ada perubahan di kulit wajahku, ga tambah putih, ga tambah alus, hehehe biasa aja. Padahal, bb cream harusnya bikin wajah dan teksturnya jadi lebih bagus

-          Non comedogenic dan ga bikin aku jerawatan ( break out)

-          Waktu pertama kali dipake, pasti wajah jadi putih dan aneh kayak geisha hehehe. Jangan kaget ya, ntar kalau sudah sekitar sepuluh menit, lama – lama krimnya oxidized dan jadi sesuai dengan warna kulit kamu.

-          Murah hahaha. Dari tiga bb cream yang ada di Indonesia, Maybelline yang paling murah J

Tips

Supaya BB creamnya lebih tahan lama di muka berminyak, lebih baik dipadukan sama loose powder J. Menurutku, kalau dipadu sama maybelline clear n smooth compact powder ( warna hijau), coverage BB cream ini jadi lebih bagus, terus lebih tahan lama. Mungkin karena compact powdernya shine free (bebas kilap) dan ada oil controlnya.  

Kesimpulan

BB cream ini lumayan baguslah. Lebih enak pakai BB cream ini daripada foundation. Tapi selama pake bb cream ini, aku ngerasa biasa aja, nggak ada efek “wow” sama sekali hehehe.
